Nokia Lumia 920 gets official, packs a lot of goodies

The Nokia Lumia 920 is now official as the Finnish company unveiled one of their first Windows Phone 8 device to the public during their recently-held Nokia World 2012.
nokia lumia 920
This new flagship phone will be packing a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU (Krait) which is fairly comparable to quad-core chips such as NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 in some benchmark tests. RAM is at 1GB while internal storage is at 32GB with no room for a microSD.
It will also have the same curved glass design as the Lumia 900 in front but a glossy finish on its back instead of the premium matte finish that we love from before. You’ll get a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display which has a 1280 x 768 resolution and is 25% brighter than the best panels out in the market. It’s like their ClearBlack display on steroids.
Nokia also demonstrated the screen’s “Super Sensitive Touch” which lets you play with it even when you’re wearing gloves. A very practical feature not found in capacitive touch screens.
Lumia 920
Nokia puts the PureView name on the 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss optics of the Lumia 920 even though it’s not the same as the Nokia PureView 808. It promises good hardware image stabilization and impressive low-light performance though from what the company calls “floating lens”.
Lumia 920 wireless charging
You’ll also get NFC support here, LTE connectivity, and Nokia’s largest battery ever (2000mAh) plus wireless charging via Qi technology and a number of wireless charging accessories that they also showcased.

4.5″ 720p PureMotionHD+ (1280 x 768 resolution)

LG Optimus 4X HD Review

The local quad-core smartphone market is still small and LG’s Optimus 4X HD is just the third one we have officially available as of this writing. It’s important for LG to keep up with the big Android brands and being third is not a bad thing in a market that’s still warming up to big and powerful phones.

’ve been using this LG superphone for quite a while and if I’m to say something short about it, it’s not as flashy as the HTC One X nor the Samsung Galaxy S3 but is trusty and can handle things really well on its own with a few tricks to boot.
Let’s take a look closely at the LG Optimus 4X HD to see if it’s time for you to go with quad-core phones.

Sony launches the Xperia go and Xperia acro S for the water-lovers

If you’re the clumsy type who often manage to get your phone wet by either dumping it on a sink with running water (raise hand) or having a glass of water spill its contents on your phone (raise hand), then you might want to invest on phones that are made for such abuse.

There are not a lot of Android handsets available that caters to the rugged or active lifestyle but Sony has two that targets different price points. The Sony Xperia go is an entry-level phone while the Sony Xperia acro S is for those wanting more power and size from their phones. Both of these are water, dust, and scratch-resistant smartphones!
